Burglary Near You -MAY AVENUE

Dear Resident

You are receiving this message because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on May Avenue ,BD13, in the early hours of Thursday 18th June, between approximately 00:30hrs and 01:00hrs.

Unfortunately, the victim had left their doors unlocked, which allowed the suspect to gain entry to the property. The offender then removed the vehicle keys and left the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

Please remember to always lock your doors, even when you are at home or if you are only stepping out briefly. Opportunistic criminals will often try door handles in search of an easy “win”.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 0030hrs - 0100hrs 18/06/2026 to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
